Maharashtra Politics, News Live Today: Sources from the Nationalist Congress Party said the party is set to get one more cabinet minister and three minister of state berths.
Maharashtra Politics Live Updates (July 11): A 24-year-old man has been arrested from Mahad in Raigad district for allegedly threatening to kill Maharashtra ministers Chhagan Bhujbal and Dhananjay Munde, both members of the Ajit Pawar camp of NCP, a Pune Police officer said on Tuesday. Both were sworn in as ministers in the Shiv Sena-BJP government on July 2 along with six other MLAs of NCP, while Ajit Pawar took oath as Deputy Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court continued till July 25 the interim protection from arrest granted to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA and minister Hasan Mushrif in a money laundering case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Mushrif too was sworn in as cabinet minister on July 2.
As the suspense over the allotment of ministerial portfolios in the Maharashtra cabinet grows, Industries minister and Shiv Sena leader Uday Samant said, “The allotment will happen in some hours. It could be two hours, 20 hours or 72 hours, we don’t know that.” He added, “The three leaders — Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar — know Maharashtra and its geography very well. They will allocate the portfolios according to the abilities of the ministers.”

A day after Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar kickstarted his state tour from Nasik district, two of his former close aides who have switched sides to join hands with Ajit Pawar — Dilip Walse-Patil and Chhagan Bhujbal claimed on Sunday that their leadership in respective areas has brought development to the region.
The leaders said that they have nothing against Sharad Pawar but pointed fingers at people close to him including Rohit Pawar, the grand nephew of the NCP founder. “I am in politics for 40 years while his (Rohit Pawar) age is 37. He put out a social media post asking how much more Sharad Pawar should have given to me? I know that I owe everything to Sharad Pawar. I met him (Rohit) once. If it is about his assembly constituency, then I resign from mine and you stand here. I don’t have any grudge against Pawar family except for this,” said Walse-Patil, who sworn in as a minister last week along with Ajit Pawar.
Meanwhile, sources from the Nationalist Congress Party said the party is set to get one more cabinet minister and three minister of state berths. “As per the already discussed formula, the NCP is set to get four more ministerial berths. In this, one will be cabinet berth while three others will be ministers of state,” a senior NCP leader told The Indian Express.
