It is not right to trample on democracy publicly, thumbing your nose at the Supreme Court. We will go to SC against the ordinance,” the CM said.

The Centre on Saturday approached the Supreme Court seeking a review of its May 11 judgment giving control over administrative services in the National Capital Territory to the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. This came a day after the Centre brought an ordinance to create a National Capital Civil Service Authority that will have the power to recommend the transfer and posting of all Group A officers and officers of DANICS serving in Delhi.
Meanwhile, in other news, the CBI has filed a fresh chargesheet against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler on Saturday in connection with three murders carried out by a mob in Delhi’s Pul Bangash area during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Delhi News Live Updates: Centre gets ordinance to put bureaucrats over CM; Centre’s ordinance fraud, deceit, says AAP; follow latest updates
Fraud and deceit is what the Aam Aadmi Party called the Ordinance passed by the Ministry of Law and Justice, a day after Arjun Ram Meghwal took charge of the ministry, post Kiren Rijiju’s removal as law minister. “The Centre’s ordinance reeks of malice. This is a case of fraud, cheating, and deceit and does not suit it. The Centre has not only cheated the Delhi government and people of Delhi but also the Supreme Court’s Constitution bench and Constitution of India. The people of Delhi elected CM Arvind Kejriwal to power thrice with a landslide mandate. But the Centre in its lust for power is disrespecting such a huge mandate to puppeteer the bureaucracy of Delhi. Centre has snatched away the elected CM’s powers and placed them in the hands of the selected L-G. This ordinance is an attempt to not only unjustifiably empower the L-G to do transfer posting against the will of the government but also impede upon the ongoing works of the government. This kind of fraud and deceit has never taken place in the history of the country, our citizens don’t deserve to be undermined like this,” said Services Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj.
